In July 2002, the United States Congress passed the Sarbanes-Oxley Act into law to restore investor confidence following well-publicised bankruptcies. The Act is applicable to all publicly registered companies under the jurisdiction of the Securities and Exchange Commission. In brief, the Act specifies several requirements that include management's quarterly certification of their financial results and an annual assertion that internal controls over financial reporting are effective. In line with the foregoing FLUX has developed its own methodology to assist clients in defining, documenting and testing an enterprise wide system of internal controls to meet requirements of the Act. This methodology has already been implemented by a number of customers. |
